About Me

Hello, it’s me, Lisa. I thought I would start a blog to get back into creative writing and to memorialize my adventures with food and wine. I used to be an attorney in Chicago, but then I quit my job and moved to Ireland. I am currently attending the 12-week certification course at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, so for the next three months, I will mostly blog about my experiences there. In any event, thanks for reading!

  4. sitting in a hotel room in Waterford just read your entire blog on your Ballymaole experience, and am quietly terrified as I commence the said course in 8 days and Im 59 !!!heavens above what have i got myself into !!! fulfilling a long held dream !!! I am now terrified.
your blog was witty, very entertaining and your honesty admirable ,unlike most food/travel writers who gloss over the anxiousness and reality. Loved it !!!
You have the Gift and I award you the “Best get real cooking award for your blog”
its a pity there very little $ in writting . May i suggest forwarding your wonderful blog to
a few Australian food magazines eg. Gourmet Traveller / Australian Vogue Entertaining and Living./Sydney Morning Herald. thank you for all the time and effort you put into it considering the hangovers you endured . WELL DONE. liz

    • Thank you, thank you, thank you for the lovely comment, Liz! All the best to you as you embark on one of the most memorable experiences you will have in your life. Don’t be terrified, and enjoy every minute of it, as it’ll go by all too quickly. Feel free to send me e-mails at lisa39@gmail.com if you have any specific questions as you go through the course. 🙂

  5. thank you Lisa, hope the reality of being back in the real world again hasnt been to daunting for you after the Bally cocoon .All the best for the future, It would be interesting if you continued the blog post Ireland and the transition from being in the corporate world to a culinary one.,. you definitely have the talent ,but the time?
Sometimes opportunities just happen by chance (synchronicity) or its a real challenge and hard work, risk taking and being courageous .how has it been for you?
p.s have a lot of free time here prior to the course ,so your blog week by week is preparing me for this adventure ahead . thank you again your insight is going to be a comforting presence in the next 3 months
